The Celts   As this is primarily a soundtrack project, we felt it would be appropriate to include the stories, images and thoughts behind the various themes which embrace this album. Aldebaran   The Red giant Star, Aldebaran, found in the constellation of Taurus, is the Eye of the bull. From the Arabic, Al Dabaran, it means ‘the follower’ as it "follows" the Pleiades. This piece portrays future Celts passing Aldebaran on their journey to new territories, continuing the migratory pattern which was so predominant in their early history...   Codladh fada, Codladh domhain. Éirigh! Amharc síos Aldebaran.   Siúil liom tríd an réalta dearg. Deireadh, deireadh an turas. Réaltóg, réaltóg dearg.

Aldebaran   La stella gigante rossa, Aldebaran, che si trova nella costellazione di Taurus, è l'Occhio del toro. Dall'arabo, Al Dabaran, significa "il seguace" poiché "segue" le Pleiadi. Questo pezzo ritrae Aldebaran che passa sui Celti futuri sul loro viaggio verso nuovi territori, continuando il modello migratorio che era così predominante nella loro storia remota...   Sonno lungo, Sonno profondo. Alzati! Guarda giù Aldebaran.   Viaggia con me nella  stella rossa. La fine, fine del viaggio. Stella, stella rossa.

I Want Tomorrow   ...thoughts of the present...   Dawn breaks; there is blue in the sky. Your face before me though I don't know why. Thoughts disappearing like tears from the Moon.   Waiting here, as I sit by the stone, they came before me, those men from the Sun. Deireadh An Tuath   Opened earth, spirits, incantations that earth may once again be fertile and thus ensure the future of the celts.  Samhain, the greatest Celtic Festival, marked the beginning of their New Year – the 31st October – which is now celebrated as Hallow'een or All Souls night...   'Sí an ghealach, mall san oíche. 'Sí an ghrian. Fán liom go Deo.   Hoireann is O Hi O Ho ra Ha.   'Sí na Samhna, tús na Bliain Ur. 'Sí an crann marbh. Deireadh an tuath.   Hoireann is O Ho O Ho ro Ho. Hoireann is O Ho O Ho ro Ho.

The Sun in the Stream   Inspired by the legend of the Salmon of Knowledge. In the Grove of the nine wise Hazel trees, from the sacred pool, the River Boyne flowed. The salmon feasted on the rich crimson nuts fallen from the hazel trees, and hence possessed all the truth in the world.

Il salmone nella fonte   Ispirato dalla leggenda del Salmone della Conoscenza. Nel Boschetto dei nove alberi saggi di nocciola, dalla fonte sacra, nasce il fiume Boyne. I salmoni si nutrivano delle ricche nocciole cremisi cadute dagli alberi di nocciolo e quindi possedevano tutta la verità nel mondo.

Fairytale   his is based on the story of the Fairy King Midir and his love for the beautiful princess Etain. It is a story of  great love, jealousy, secrets and endurance, in which Etain is banished and transformed into a pool of  water, from which she emerges as a butterfly. Although immortal she is born a mortal child, one thousand and twelve years after her first birth.

Favola   Questo brano è basato sulla storia del re delle fate Midir ed il suo amore per la bella principessa Etain. È una storia di amore, di gelosia, di segreti e di grande resistenza, in cui Etain esiliata e trasformata in uno stagno di acqua, da cui emerge come farfalla. Anche se immortale lei rinasce come bambina mortale, mille e dodici anni dopo la sua prima nascita.

Epona   Epona was revered as the Horse Goddess and is portrayed with birds as well as horses, with a bag or cornucopia. She is closely identified with Rhiannon. Her birds are reputed to lull the living to sleep and to awaken the dead.

Epona   Epona era riverita come la dea dei cavalli ed è ritratta con uccellini così come con cavalli, con una borsa o cornucopia. È strettamente identificata con Rhiannon. Si reputa che i suoi uccellini cullino i vivi per addormentarli e risveglino i morti.

St. Patrick   The son of a Roman official, Patrick was captured by a raiding party of Celts when a boy, and spent six years in captivity. He escaped, became a priest and returned to Ireland. According to legend it is St. Patrick who is responsible for Ireland's conversion to Christianity and the final loss of the old Celtic beliefs.   Tabhair dom ghrása, Fíormhac Dé. San Patrizio   Figlio di un funzionario romano, Patrick fu catturato da un raid di Celti quando era ragazzo, fu tenuto prigioniero per sei anni. Scappò, divenne prete e ritornò in Irlanda. Secondo la leggenda fu San Patrizio il  responsabile della conversione dell'Irlanda al Cristianesimo e della perdita finale delle antiche credenze celtiche.   Dammi il tuo amore, Vero figlio di Dio. Dammi la forza, Il brillante luminoso sole.

Cú Chulainn   Means the "hound of Cullan". As a child his name  was "setanta" meaning ‘the little’. He became Cú Chulainn when he killed the watchdog of the smith Cullan, and so undertook to guard the smiths house in place of the dog. Cú Chulainn is one of the great Irish heroes. The most famous deeds of this hero are found in the saga Táin Bó Cualgne (the cattle raid of Cooley).

Cú Chulainn   Significa "Il mastino di Cullan". Da bambino il suo nome era "setanta" che signofica "il piccolo". Si trasformò in in Cú Chulainn quando uccise il cane da guardia del fabbro Cullan ed in tal modo decise di custodire la casa del fabbro al posto del cane. Cú Chulainn è uno dei grandi eroi irlandesi. Le azioni più famose di questo eroe si trovanoi nella saga di Táin Bó Cualgne (La razzia del bestiame di Cooley).

Oisin   Which means "little fawn", left his home to journey to Tir na n Og, the Land of Youth, with Niamh Cinn Oir, "Niamh of the Head of Gold". Timelessness – he stayed 300 years, though never aged. On his return to Ireland he found his contemporaries long dead, and Ireland now had St. Patrick and Christianity. Putting his foot upon the earth, he lost Tir na n Og, and so aged and died.

Oisin   Che significa "piccolo cerbiatto", lasciò la sua casa per viaggiare sino a Tir Na n Og, la Terra della Giovinezza, con Niamh Cinn Oir, "Niamh dai capelli d'oro": Raggiunta questa terra, vi rimase 300 anni, benché non invecchiasse mai. Al suo ritorno in Irlanda trovò i suoi contemporanei tutti morti da tempo e l'Irlanda ora conosceva San Patrizio e il Cristianesimo. Posando il suo piede sulla terra perse il retaggio di Tir na n Og e così invecchiò e morì.

Boadicea   Boadicea, or Boudicca meaning Victorious, was Queen of the Iceni tribe of East Anglia. She led a rebellion in 60 A.D. against the Romans, destroying the cities of Colchester, St. Albans and capturing London. She was eventually defeated by the Romans, and rather than be humiliated by them, she poisoned herself.

Boadicea   Boadicea, o Boudicca, significa Vittoriosa, fu regina della tribù degli Iceni dell'Anglia orientale. Lei condusse una ribellione nel 60 a.C. contro i Romani, distruggendo le città di Colchester, St. Albans e catturando Londra. Lei alla fine fu sconfitta dai Romani e piuttosto che essere umiliata da loro, lei si avvelenò.

Bard Dance   The Bard, in ancient Celtic times was a man of great importance. His foremost function was in the praise of his king. He also entertained the assembly, sometimes in eulogy, sometimes in satire. Together with the Druid, Warrior and Silversmith, he represents the image of the ancient Celt.

Danza del bardo   Il bardo, nei tempi celtici antichi era un uomo di grande importanza. La sua prima funzione consisteva nell'elogio del suo re. Inoltre intratteneva la corte, a volte nel panegirico, a volte nella satira. Insieme al druido, al guerriero ed al fabbro, rappresenta l'immagine dell'antico celta.

Dan Y Dwr   Beneath the waters... the village Capel Celyn. This village in Wales was submerged, against much protest and struggle by its inhabitants, in order to accommodate a reservoir. This is a lament for the loss of Capel Celyn, memories now held beneath the water.   Dan y dwr, tawelwch sydd. Dan y dwr, galwaf i. Nid yw'r swn gyda fi.   Dan y dwr, tawelwch am byth. Dan y dwr, galwaf i. Nid yw'r swn ddim fwy gyda fi.

Sotto le acque   Sotto le acque... il villaggio di Capel Celyn. Questo villaggio nel Galles è stato sommerso, contro molte proteste e lotte da parte dei suoi abitanti, per costruire un bacino. Questo brano è un lamento per la perdita di Capel Celyn, ricordi ora nascosti sotto l'acqua.   Sotto le acque, c'è silenzio. Sotto le acque, ti chiamo. Non c'è nessuno con me.   Sotto le acque, silenzio per sempre. Sotto le acque, ti chiamo. Non c'è più nessun suono con me.
